
The adoption fee for dogs & cats include:
A spay or neuter ( if pet is not already spayed/neutered), preliminary age appropriate vaccinations, free health exam with a
local participating Veterinarian, Humane Society ID tag, leash and a lifetime of love and devotion.
In addition cat adoptions also include: a cat collar and a sturdy cardboard box.
The adoption process:
For those living in Canon City (Within a 20 minute drive):
-If your new pet is already spayed/neutered: Your fee will be what is shown on the chart above.
-If your new pet is not yet spayed/neutered, and is and has had its 2nd set of shots: Your fee will be what is shown on the chart above. We will keep your new pet with us until the next business day. We will take your new pet to Fremont Vet to get spayed/neutered. You will be able to pick up your new pet at Fremont Vet that afternoon.
-If your new pet is not yet spayed/neutered, and is and has NOT had its 2nd set of shots: Your fee will be what is shown on the chart above, plus a $50 returnable deposit for a spay/neuter certificate. We will let you know when your will be ready to get fixed. Your certificate expires after 60 days, and if your animal hasn't been spayed/neutered within that time, your $50 deposit will NOT be returned to you. All of the veterinarians in Canon City will take this certificate as full payment. After your pet gets fixed, your vet will bill us, and we will send you a $50 check in the mail. If you do not get your pet fixed within the 60 day period, you will not get your deposit back.
For those living outside of Canon City (Longer than 20 minute drive):
- If your new pet is already spayed/neutered: Your fee will be what is shown on the chart above.
-If your new pet is not yet spayed/neutered: Your fee will be what is shown on the chart above, plus a $50 returnable deposit for a spay/neuter certificate. We will let you know when your pet will be ready to get fixed. Your certificate will be good for 60 days, and if your animal hasn't been spayed/neutered within that time, your $50 deposit will NOT be returned to you. You will need to find a vet in your area that will accept this certificate as full payment for a spay/neuter. You should have no problem finding one. After your pet gets fixed, your vet will bill us, and we will send you a check for $50 in the mail. If you do not get your pet fixed within the 60 day period, you will not get your deposit back.
